She/Her

Deborah is a Masters level therapist. In addition to holding a  Master’s degree in education, Deborah has also earned a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rider University. She has been working as a counselor at Pyramid Healthcare on a woman’s trauma unit. She has gained experience working with adults with anxiety, depression, trauma and substance use disorder. She has also worked with families and couples through this process to help improve communication skills, relationship dynamics and parenting abilities.

Deborah has a wide range of experience that she brings forth into counseling as master educator and her experiences teaching in public schools. She gained experience working with children and teens who exhibit anxiety, ADHD and chronic illness. This has afforded her experiences in guiding parents, children and teens through the 504 and IEP process.

Deborah places an emphasis on a person-centered skills-based approach. In the first phase of therapy she strives to create conditions needed for her clients to grow and change. She does this by having unconditional positive regard: listening without judgement, acknowledging the clients experience, and helping them to feel better understood. As the therapeutic relationship develops she weaves in a skills-based approach where clients become actively involved in using skills to deal with the problems in their lives. As therapy progresses clients are able to explore a wider range of beliefs and feelings. She works with the client to create an individualized
approach that serves to uncover their specific goals and unique gifts.

Deborah is passionate about helping her clients create a better relationship with their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. She uses mindful awareness practices throughout the counseling process to facilitate this process. She believes that people are far more capable of change than they realize. Her primary goal is to guide her clients toward their fullest potential.

She incorporates empirically based treatment modalities: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.

Deborah is a Nationally Certified Counselor and is working towards her licensure in professional counseling. She works under the supervision of Mark Ludwig, LMFT at Bucks Support Services.
